IF-Memories

This is my 1st submission for Illustration Friday Challenge.

There were certainly many good and bad memories behind this drawing.
I love drawing portraits since secondary school. Among the most memorable one was an extract from an A1 drawing named Faces. These faces was belong to my brother. Those days, he is very playful and active.
Or it's more appropriately known as Practising Portrait Drawings in 30 poses of my younger brother.
I snapped many photos of him in different angles. And choosing the one I wanted to draw as references.
I intentionally left the other half of the paper blank, to indicate there were spaces for my brother to grow and tranform.
As life goes on, he holds a good position in an international company now and has settled down.
I am glad to see the miracle transformation takes place in him because of his willingness to change and continue to excel.

Great drawings, also I like the layout and the idea behind the white space too.

Nice portraits. To me, 30 seems a bit excessive; i usually do 3 or three sketches before attempting a serious portrait.
Welcome to "IF."

Hi Yoon See
Like this piece. It's really nice that it's blank on the left - makes the piece more interesting. :)

Hope you are having a nice weekend.
